Estate agents Allsopp & Allsopp break into the UK market with Starberry-designed website

After conquering the dizzy heights of the Middle East property market with their Starberry built website, brothers Carl and Lewis Allsopp decided to bring their multi award-winning style of estate agency to their home town of Coventry.

To make sure their entrance to the UK property market made inroads from day one, Carl and Lewis turned to Starberry – web designers of award-winning property websites.

As well as being multi-device friendly, we have integrated a number of useful features into the Allsopp & Allsopp website, including:

A ‘draw your search area’ facility – this allows users to really narrow down their search area – far more than by entering just a postcode. Users simply click on a map to create the boundaries of a search – whether that’s around a school, in the same road as a train station or just a handful of specific streets. Properties available in the set search area are illustrated by pins that can be clicked on for full property details.

Directions to the property – Property searches are often followed by an online search for directions, taking users away from a website. Realising this, Starberry has included a ‘directions’ tab on full property detail pages that automatically fills out the location field with the property’s address, leaving the user to input their ‘travelling from’ details.

Show me schools map – Another tab on the full property detail pages is schools. Click on this and the closest schools to the chosen property are indicated by pins. The pins themselves are colour and number coded to show the school’s Ofsted performance, as well as a marker to indicate if they are an independent or in the top 10%. Hover on any pin for the school’s name and click on any pin to be taken to extensive information and reports about each individual school.

Individual negotiator assignment – each property has been assigned a specific negotiator, which is a very American approach. This plays on the desire for a first-class and personal level of customer service. The negotiator’s photo and details are show next to each set of full property details, with ‘call to action’ buttons and the ability to see the negotiator’s full profile.

Vendor login to view sales progress – Starberry has developed a secure login facility for vendors where they can see the response their property has generated – from number of website views and enquiries to number of viewings and offer details.

Starberry’s cloud set-up, acts as a centralized project management, planning and progression hub, suited Carl and Lewis, whose Middle East headquarters is in Dubai. “The Starberry Hub will continue to support Carl and Lewis in their plans to expand across the West Midlands,” says Ben. “They can check progress and leave us messages 24/7 knowing we’ll be alerted whenever a new request is made. Distance is no barrier – whether they are in the Middle East or Middle England.”
