A balanced world is a better world. The importance of gender equality is paramount, and we relish the opportunity to celebrate women’s achievements, raising awareness and encouraging everyone to take action for gender equality. We’re excited to take part in the International Women’s Day 2019.
'We Mind the Gap' established in 2014 by MoneyPenny co-founder Rachel Clacher, aims to give new opportunities in life, and help under-served young women by providing holistic paid six months traineeships and on-going support.
That’s a cause that resonates with us and gender equality in the workplace is something we’ve always made a point of promoting within the Starberry constellation. We're proud to say that since Starberry launched in 2001, we have always been an equal opportunity employer. We offer equal pay for equivalent levels of work and promote an inclusive and non-discriminatory work environment at all times.
Yesterday Starberry Co-founders Ben and Rus Sellers met some of the fantastic 'We Mind the Gap' team working at the #EAvolution19 event in Wrexham. The Sellers brothers took the opportunity to do the #BalanceforBetter pose with 'We Mind the Gap' rising star Rachael McGarry and MoneyPenny’s event organiser Ela Bayraktar. Before we knew it 100's of the Moneypenny team stood up behind us and struck the pose too, in a flashmob-style gesture!
Check out the We Mind the Gap website for real-life stories of some of the young women that went through the traineeship. Find out how your business can get involved in your local community.
So go on, show your support by posting your message and picture of the balance pose on social media, not just on Women’s Day but throughout 2019, and let’s build together a #BalanceforBetter.
Happy Women’s Day!
