The web design team at Starberry is celebrating after its beautifully crafted website for estate agent MyLondonHome took the Gold Award at the Sunday Times and The Times Lettings Agency of the Year Awards 2015.
Steven A Herd, CEO and Founder of MyLondonHome commented: “We are absolutely delighted that the website Starberry designed for us took the top spot in the Best Website category. Upon winning, the first thing we did was contact Starberry to pass on our thanks – they’re an amazing team who have created us a stunning website that’s not only award-winning but business boosting too, as we have seen traffic and enquiry levels rise since its launch.
It’s an amazing achievement and I am looking forward to pushing our gold award in our marketing as much as possible. During our first brief with Ben and the team, I said I wanted a gold-winning website and that’s exactly what Starberry has delivered.”
The website Starberry built for MyLondonHome is an ingenious balance of aesthetics, functionality and deliverables, with a responsive design for seamless use across desktops, tablets and smartphones. There is emphasis on social sharing for more exposure and traffic, a clear definition of audiences, a search facility that allows users to narrow down options in the quickest time possible, streamlined response forms for increased lead generation and deal flow, instant chat on every page and a valuation request model that ensures no leads are overlooked.
When it comes to the properties themselves, Starberry created a new style of comprehensive full detail display that included full width images, a swipe-able large image gallery, a ‘save search and property’ function that kicks in instantly without the user having to register and an information bundle that included, school Oftsed ratings, maps, directions, a mortgage calculator, a currency converter, floorplans, EPC details and a street view.
On the surface it’s slick yet simple website – which is what a user wants to see – but behind the scenes, Starberry implemented a vastly improved SEO strategy increasing SERPS and overall quality and quantity of web traffic. The web team also creates a centralised data capture system through a data dashboard, which gives improved visibility to stakeholders and marketing staff for measuring traffic and return on investment.
Ben Sellers says that award-winning websites like MyLondonHome are born from intense planning: “Our work for MyLondonHome involved a UX-based research phase and a collaborative feedback process using InvisonApp prototyping. It’s only when all the thoughts and ideas were analysed that we could create a unique design that represented MyLondonHome’s core values and main areas of expertise.
It’s always a steep learning curve but meticulous planning is crucial, backed up with thorough testing with BugHerd to give detailed and accurate feedback before any live date. To have our hard work recognised by the property’s industry’s top awards is fantastic for the whole Starberry team, who put in hours and hours of hard graft.”
